Utvärdering av Kasei for Change I
Målsättningen för projektet Kasei for Change var att kvinnor och män skulle starta en förändringsprocess för att förbättra kvinnors tillgång till hälsa. Tre områden prioriterades av grupperna: arbetet mot könsstympning, barnäktenskap och tonårsgraviditeter, men andra områden var också viktigt, så som information om preventivmedel och vikten av mödravård och förlossningar med utbildad personal.

Här nedan går att läsa en del av den utvärdering av projektet som gjorts. Detta är intervjuer av personer som varit involverade i projektet. Rapporten är på engelska. Samtidigt har andra indikationer används i utvärderingen, så som statistik från hälsosystemet. SURVEY OF SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN IN KASEI REGARDING KASEI FOR CHANGE.
This survey was carried out immediately after active phase of Kasie for change. The target group were school going children, both boys and girls. The main objective was to assess if the school going children know something about the Kasie for change project and how this has influenced their lives. It was both pupils of schools that in the begining of 2020 had been visited by the Kasei for Change team and schools that had not been visited.
OUTCOME.
1. Total number of those interviewed were 120 children drawn from different primary school and secondary schools in Kasei location (Korokou, Kamketo and Kasei).

The majority of those interviewed were school going children of between age 14-16 years, more girls than boys interviewed. Those of age 17-19 years were mostly in secondary schools in the Kasie location.

Out of those interviewed, all responded that Kasei for change champions discussed with them about Female genital mutilations and dangers associated with it, why early marriages are not good and dangers associated, the need to avoid teenage pregnancies. Only 45% discussed family planning with the group of Kasei for change. The group members only chose to discuss family planning issues with those above 17 years of age.

Out of the total interviewed 95% of the respondents agreed the issues addressed by the Kasei for change team are important community issues, while only 5% thought that they are not such an important issue.

SURVEY ON KASEI WOMEN GROUP
The survey was targeting the members of the group, other than the treasurer, the chairman and the secretary. The sample women interviewed were from the entire three women group (Kasei, Korokou and Kamketo). The survey done post – active phase of the project, the objective was to assess the involvement of all other team members, the members were selected randomly to assess their active involvement of the project. Seven members were interviewed per group.

- In the majority of the household, it is the fathers who make decisions regarding important family issue as shown above.
SURVEY ON KASEI MEN GROUP
The survey was targeting the Men members of the group, other than the treasurer, the chairman and the secretary. The sample of Men interviewed were from all the three men group (Kasei, Korokou and Kamketo). The survey was done post active phase of the project, the objective was to assess the involvement of all other team members’ in the project other than the officials. Seven men members were interviewed from each men group.

- Compared to Women, many men discussed with both Mother and children at the same time as compared to women in the group. All members took an initiative to discuss with the members of their families issues raised by Kasei for change which is a good sign!
